On Monday, March 10, students in the UW Tech Exploration Lab had the unique opportunity to connect with alumni mentors and industry leaders from companies like Google, Amazon, Exact Sciences, Holos, Fulcrum Solutions and more during a high-energy on-campus mixer.
The event brought together innovation-minded students and tech professionals for meaningful conversations, mentorship, and real-time feedback on student-led projects.
“The Lab is unique in that it connects students from across campus with advanced tools and industry mentorship to rapidly prototype and gain essential skills for an increasingly AI-driven world,” said Kristin Storoff of Google. “It’s exciting to watch entrepreneurial ideas develop, and there’s real value in bringing the best of Google’s AI to support students’ exploration.”
Students shared progress on their semester projects and gained firsthand insight into how to sharpen their ideas for real-world impact. The mixer also served as a lead-up to the Tech Exploration Lab Open House on April 24, where students will showcase their prototypes and demonstrate how they’re solving real problems through emerging technologies.
