Startups, Meet Your New Favorite Testing Ground: the UW Tech Exploration Lab

Last week, we teamed up with student-run studio OdachiVR to host a demo and feedback night for their latest project, Databender — a cutting-edge VR image editing tool that gives artists an intuitive way to create surreal, glitch-art visuals using immersive VR interfaces.

Students from across campus were invited to experiment with the tool firsthand. After a quick walkthrough, participants got to dive in and design their own visuals — and the results were incredible. 🎨✨

🍕 After the demo (and some well-earned pizza), participants shared feedback with the creators to help refine the experience. That input will help shape the next iteration of Databender, which will be featured again at our upcoming Tech Exploration Lab Open House on April 24.

The UW Tech Exploration Lab is a high-impact initiative that gives startups a space to test, improve, and showcase their tech with real users. Whether you’re building in VR, AI, or any emerging tech — we’re here to connect you with the campus community and accelerate your work.
