Google AI Startup School @ UW Tech Exploration Lab
This summer, join the Google AI Startup School through the UW Tech Exploration Lab—a self-paced, low-pressure opportunity to explore what it takes to build an AI-powered venture.
You’ll engage with Google’s curated, startup-focused online trainings and workshops covering topics like building your first MVP, preparing your data pipeline, setting founder OKRs, and more. Work through the material on your own schedule, with ongoing support from the Lab community.
The program officially kicks off on June 10 and culminates on August 14 with a networking event. Content is online with flexible scheduling and we will offer regular Lab check-ins, informal events, and opportunities to connect throughout the summer.
What You’ll Get
Startup-Ready Skills
Learn the fundamentals of launching AI ventures—from opportunity spotting to product-building to ethical deployment.
Community & Collaboration
Connect with a cohort of fellow students who are exploring the same materials, testing early ideas, and learning out loud together.
Support from the Tech Lab
You’ll have access to:
- Mentors with startup, design, and technical backgrounds
- The Lab’s AI Sandbox for hands-on experimentation with GPT tools and prototyping frameworks
- Google-affiliated advisors offering insights, occasional office hours, and participation in related events
Idea Acceleration
Use this summer to test an early idea. What you explore now could evolve into a full Lab project this fall—or even beyond.
Celebrate Your Journey
We’ll close out the summer with a networking event on August 18 at 1403 University Ave., co-hosted with Discovery to Product (D2P). You’ll have a chance to meet others and share what you worked on informally—or just reflect on what you learned.
No technical experience is required. Just bring your curiosity, your energy, and a willingness to explore.
Ready to learn something new, make connections, and see where your ideas might go? You’re in the right place.
Let us know if you would like to join in by June 6 and we will follow up with options for getting started.
