Upcoming Info Session – January 29, 2025, 5:30!
Find out about ways to get involved with the Tech Exploration Lab, a new multi-disciplinary campus initiative at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery for students to gain hands-on experience with emerging technologies, build new skills, and make industry connections.
In addition to WID faculty guidance, Google is sponsoring educational content and micro-credentialing, holding office hours, and providing an AI sandbox for building skills throughout the semester. Campus and industry guest speakers will provide insights and mentoring, and students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while pursuing their interests and identifying use cases for emerging technologies.
The Lab offers several options for undergrad and grad students. All levels of experience and all majors are welcome:
- Bring your own ideas to explore and we will provide frameworks and resources to advance ideas. Option to compete for cash prizes for ideas with the highest business or social impact and present to an industry audience at a Industry Event and Open House on April 24.
 - Define a project or take part in structured learning to earn independent study credits.
 - Volunteer to help with industry events, identify new technologies, support project teams, and more.
 - Just come to weekly Lab events to observe and learn.

Attend the Lab’s Info Session Wednesday, January 29, at 5:30 p.m. In the Deluca Forum at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery to learn more. No RSVP needed. In-person preferred and we also will be on Zoom: https://uwmadison.zoom.us/j/91800483759?pwd=CEf8jwFiLMromBJ1IvFexDFI5oQcx7.1
