BuildFest Energy Meets Industry Problems: Join the Four-Week Sprint

Startup CEO, Kerra Guffey, hearing about student projects mid-hackathon.

Coming out of BuildFest with an idea you can’t stop thinking about? Or curious what real industry problems are out there waiting for a team to pick them up? Either way, the Tech Exploration Lab has your next four weeks planned.

Join us on Wednesday, September 30, from 5:30–7:00 PM at 1403 University Ave for an evening of networking and the first Industry Problem Drop of the semester — real problems submitted by industry partners, ready for teams to run with.

This is also the on-ramp into the Four-Week Sprint, launching October 1.

About the Four Week Sprint

The sprint gives extra structure and support to students building ideas across the Lab. Over four weeks, participants:

  • Define and sharpen their problem
  • Test key assumptions
  • Build or refine a lightweight concept
  • Prepare a 2–3 minute demo and learn strong presentation skills

Whether you’re carrying momentum from BuildFest or grabbing a problem straight from industry, the goal is the same: get kickstarted now so you’re fully ready for Demo Night in November.
