Lab Fellows & Associates

Work at the frontier. Build real skills.

Leadership Fellows and Lab Associates are graduate and undergraduate students who do real work at the UW Tech Exploration Lab — at the frontier of emerging technology, on problems that matter.

Graduate Students — Leadership Fellows

Leadership Fellows lead programs and initiatives across the Lab’s venture, industry, and research tracks — working directly with student founders, managing industry and alumni relationships, and driving projects that move ideas from exploration into real-world validation.

Fellows work on a range of engagements including industry Co-Lab partnerships, research translation projects, student venture programming, and alumni and partner outreach. Some Fellows are embedded in project-based work with external partners; others run internal Lab programs and operations. All Fellows are expected to work with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.

Undergraduates — Lab Associates

Lab Associates support the Lab’s programs, events, community, and industry projects — doing real work across a range of functions depending on their skills and the Lab’s needs. Some Associates work on internal Lab operations and programs; others are embedded in industry Co-Lab or campus research projects.

Students come from CS, engineering, data science, business, design, communications, and beyond. What matters more than your major is your curiosity, your reliability, and your willingness to show up and contribute.
