Applications for our fall programs open in late August across three tracks: Venture Pathway, Industry Innovation, and Innovation Translation. But here is the important part.
You don’t need to be in a formal program to build with us.
Starting in September, everyone can plug into:
Weekly Monday Lab Office Hours — 4:00–6:00 PM at 1403 University Ave, Second Floor. Your weekly anchor for feedback, collaboration, and being in the room with people who are building things. Team check-ins happen 5:00–5:30 PM once sprints are underway.
Virtual Office Hours — Wednesdays as scheduled via Calendly. A flexible way to connect, get feedback, or talk through what you are working on.
Thursday Build Nights — 6:00–10:00 PM, co-run with Transcend. (Check the Lab’s calendar to let us know you are coming)
Fourth Wednesday Networking and Industry Problem Drops — 5:30–7:00 PM monthly. This is where industry partners drop real problems for student teams to work on, kicking off four-week sprints. A great way to get connected to real work fast.
Monthly Founder and Mentor Guest Office Hours — Schedule via Calendly. Domain experts, founders, and mentors available for direct conversation with student teams.
Special Events — including BuildFest September 26-27, the Tech Innovation Summit and Demo Night in December, and more throughout the year. Check the calendar for the full lineup.
Whether you are startup-curious, building your first prototype, or deep into applied AI, there is a place for you here.

Our Location: We have an office at 1403 University Ave. on the second floor. Look for the tan building marked 1403 on University Ave., walk to the west side of the building on Lorch Street. Enter through the double glass doors facing the loading zone on Lorch, then head straight upstairs to the second level.
Events for 2026-27 are held on the main level of the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery, at Morgridge Hall, and on the Second Floor of 1403 University Ave. The best way to stay plugged in is to subscribe to our email list, join Discord, and subscribe to our calendar.
